Chairman of state-run Oschadbank's board Andriy Pyshny says that the bank continues to revamp its chain, having opened 160 new-format departments, and their number will be increased to 200 by the end of the year.
"This means a new approach to servicing clients, new banking products, a new quality of work, a new system of motivation, a new operating model. This process, which has started, is dramatic and has no alternative," the bank said in a statement on its website, quoting Pyshny as saying.
In 2016, the bank is to bring the number of its brand new outlets to 600, in 2017 to 1,000.
The main focus will be on operation in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Lviv.
The departments will open in a new, stylish design with comfortable waiting and customer service areas, a meeting room, a self-service area with information and payment terminals and ATMs. Highly qualified personnel will be hired.
Oschadbank was registered by the Central Bank on December 31, 1991. It belongs to the group of Ukraine's largest banks. It is wholly owned by the state.
The bank posted UAH 2.8 billion in loss in the first half of 2015 caused by the formation of large reserves after the weakening of the hryvnia, the worsening of the quality of its assets in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in Donbas, the technical default and downgrading of credit ratings of some state-owned enterprises that are clients of the bank.
