Air traffic between Ukraine and Russia will be suspended on October 25, despite the negotiations held between the parties, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Andriy Pivovarsky, said at a German-Ukrainian Business Forum in Berlin on Friday.
"On numerous requests of the Russian side technical consultations between the State Aviation Service of Ukraine and Russian Aviation Service were held today at the office of the European Commission... Despite these consultations, the sanctions that were imposed against the Russian airlines which have violated the Ukrainian laws and which were subjest to sanctions of the State Aviation Service, will take effect on October 25," the minister said.

Once in the sanctions list, the Russian airlines will be banned from flying to the Ukrainian airports starting the 2015-2016 winter navigation period - from October 25.
On September 29, Rosaviation notified all Ukrainian airlines on the introduction of a ban on flights to Russia from October 25.
