Ukraine boosts gas injection into USFs / Photo from UNIAN
Injection of gas into seven underground storage facilities continues with a daily pace of over 70 million cubic meters.
As of October 28, Ukraine has accumulated almost 17 million cubic meters of natural gas in its underground storage facilities, to provide for the safe passage of the heating season and to ensure unhindered transit of Russian gas to the European Union, according to the report by Ukrtransgaz.
"17 bcm of natural gas is already being stored in USFs. More precisely, 16.972 bcm," said Maksym Baliavsky, company’s spokesman.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the head of the state energy holding, Naftogaz Ukrainy, Andriy Kobolev, projected Ukraine would get more than 17 bcm of natural gas in its USFs before late October, in order to comfortably pass the 2015-2016 winter season.
Ukraine has been importing gas from al possible directions since October 13, ahead of the heating season.
