Ukraine posted a deficit of Ukraine's balance of payments in January-September 2015 at $1 million against a $4.947 billion deficit registered in the same period last year, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
In September 2015 alone, the balance of payments showed a surplus of $348 million against a $360 million deficit year-over-year.
The NBU said that the formation of the surplus of the balance of payments in September was conductive to the growth of the country's international reserves to $12.8 billion, which is equal to the financing of four months' future imports.
The surplus of the current account of the balance of payments in September 2015 was $135 million compared to a $840 million deficit in September 2014.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine posted the deficit of the balance of payments in January-August 2015 at $349 million, which was 92.3% down on a deficit recorded for the same period of 2014 at $4.587 billion. In 2014, the deficit of Ukraine's balance of payment stood at $13.307 billion compared to a $2.023 billion surplus in 2013.
