The surplus of the national budget in September alone amounted to UAH 1.1 billion, the NBU said in its macroeconomic and monetary review.

"The growth of state budget revenues decelerated (to 54% year-over-year), while that of expenditures accelerated (to 27.3% year-over-year). Despite this, the budget reported a UAH 1.1 billion surplus (although the positive balance narrowed sharply compared to the previous month) thanks to under-execution of expenditures as well as significant increase in non-tax revenues (the NBU transferred UAH 8 billion in its profit to the budget). The consolidated budget also reported surplus mainly due to local budgets," the NBU said in the review.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the national budget saw a surplus in August 2015 after a deficit, having posted almost UAH 10 billion. January through August 2015 the combined surplus of the national budget stood at UAH 7.7 billion against UAH 35.2 billion in a budget deficit in the same period last year.

The 2015 national budget foresees UAH 502.260 billion in revenue and UAH 566.870 billion in expenditures. The deficit is limited to UAH 75.820 billion, or 4.1% of GDP. The state debt is capped at UAH 1.394 trillion.
