Agriculture ministry wants to sign memo with grain traders by Dec

Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Oleksiy Pavlenko has announced that the ministry plans to sign a memorandum with grain traders by the end of November, thus stipulating amounts of grain exports from Ukraine in the 2015-2016 marketing year (July 2015 through June 2016).

"It will be done by the end of November, for sure," he said at a press conference in an answer from journalists asking when the ministry was planning to sign the document.

Pavlenko added that the ministry had not reviewed earlier announced forecasts for grain exports for the current year, which is set at about 36 million tonnes.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Deputy Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Volodymyr Lapa said that the agreement with grain traders would foresee the export of 16 million tonnes of wheat (bread and coarse wheat in the amount of about 8 million tonnes each). The gross yield of grain crops in Ukraine in 2015 is expected at 59.5 million tonnes.
