"We don't plan to pump more gas for storage by the end of the year," he told reporters on Tuesday.

According to Kobolev, Ukraine has over 17 bcm gas in its USFs now, which is 1 bcm up on last year.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine accumulated the minimum necessary volumes of gas for the heating season and ensured uninterrupted transit shipments of Russian gas to the EU. On October 30 it started consuming gas from the USFs, according to PJSC Ukrtransgaz, the operator of Ukraine's gas transport system.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk claimed the country would need to additionally import about 5 bcm of gas for the heating season.
