China's CNBM allowed to buy solar power plants in Ukraine

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) has permitted China's National Building Material Company (CNBM) to become a co-owner of some Ukrainian companies that are operators of solar power plants, namely, Voskhod Solar, Neptun Solar, Franko Solar, Franko PV, Dunayskaya SES-1, Dunayskaya SES-2, Priozernaya-1, Priozernaya-2, Limanskaya Energy-1 and Limanskaya Energy-2 through the acquisition of shares or equity capital, the AMCU's press service reported.

UNIAN memo. CNBM is one of the largest state-owned corporations in China working in the building and mechanical materials industry. Since 2005, the corporation has been engaged in the photovoltaics industry – the manufacture of polycrystalline and monocrystalline PV panels, and it is one of the global leaders in this market with the output capacity of 1 GW per year.

CNBM ranked 267th of Fortune Global 500, an annual ranking of the top 500 corporations worldwide as measured by revenue. Its annual turnover exceeds $41 billion.

CNBM has been operating in Ukraine for around five years and is one of the most powerful players in the renewable energy market. Additionally, the company is finalizing the acquisition of some Ukrainian assets in the wind power sector.
