Seven Crimea-based plants to work for Russian defense industry

Seven military and industrial facilities in the occupied Crimea have been registered as companies to be used used in the state procurement system of the Russian defense industry, said the so-called “deputy minister of industrial policy” of Crimea’s occupation government, Konstantin Ravich, according to local news source RIA Krym.

"They can take orders, that is, they have fulfilled all the requirements that enable to operate in the system of the state defense procurement. These are seven enterprises. Among them are Phiolent plant, Zaliv plant, and Scientific-Research Institute for Aeroelastic Systems. They are already working on defense contracts," Ravich said.

He did not rule out that this list can be expanded after the Crimean enterprises meet the requirements of the Russian Federal Security Service and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

On March 18, the Kremlin signed the so-called "Treaty" on the assesion of Crimea and Sevastopol to the Russian Federation.
