On November 13, Ukraine will stop importing electricity from Russia by launching the third block of Rivne Nuclear Power Plant, which has been repaired, Head of information policy department of Ukrenergo state company Zinoviy Butsio told an UNIAN correspondent.
"Imports are carried out today, but tomorrow they will be stopped due to completion of the repair and launching of the third unit of Rivne NPP," he said. At the same time, Butsio said that today Ukraine imported 400 MW of Russian electricity, which is twice less than in previous days.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on November 9, Ukrainian Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said that Ukraine intended to stop importing electricity from Russia on November 11 by launching the third block of Rivne NPP. As it was planned, the unit was connected to the network on November 11.
