Ukraine posts trade surplus at $3.2 bln in 9 months

The surplus of Ukraine's foreign trade balance amounted to $3.243 billion in January-September 2015, lower by $458 million, or 12.4%, as compared to a $3.701 billion surplus in the same period last year, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

As reported, imports of goods and services in Ukraine, excluding tolling services, decreased by $14.853 billion, or 32.3%, to $31.105 billion. Exports of goods and services from Ukraine declined by $15.311 billion, or 30.8%, to $34.348 billion.

The data are presented excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in eastern Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the surplus of Ukraine's foreign trade balance amounted to $2.890 billion in the first half of 2015, higher by $227.9 million, or 8.6%, as compared to the surplus of $2.662 billion in the same period last year.

The surplus of foreign trade balance of Ukraine in 2014 stood at $3.884 billion against an $8.514 billion deficit recorded in 2013.
