Ukraine sees 54% rise in prices of farm produce

The average sales prices of agricultural produce in Ukraine grew by 54% in January-October 2015 compared to the same period of 2014, the State Statistics Service reported.

According to the report, prices of crop products increased by 68% during the reporting period. In particular, grain prices went up by 62.4%, while prices for sunflower seeds doubled. Soybean prices increased by 1.7 times, and those of rapeseeds were 1.8 times up. In general, sales of crop products grew by 3.8%.

The average price of livestock products in the country increased by 42% in the ten months this year. In particular, prices of cattle and poultry products (live weight) rose by 37.7%, those of milk were 19.3% up and eggs 70.8% up. Sales of livestock products in January-October 2015 decreased by 5% year-over-year.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the average sales prices of agricultural products in Ukraine increased by 21.3% in 11 months of 2014, compared to the same period in 2013. Prices of crop products grew by 23.9% for the reported period, those of livestock products were 18.6% up. No data on average prices in 2014 was published by the State Statistics Service.
