Ukraine's Ministry of Economic Development and Trade plans to cancel all permits that do not exist in the EU, as well as other duplicated regulatory acts, according to a bill published on the ministry's website.

The initiative is aimed at improving Ukraine's position in the World Bank's Doing Business ranking, and will help significantly deregulate business operations, an explanatory note to the document reads. A list of regulatory acts subject to repealing will be drawn up after the regulatory system has been adjusted.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine climbed 13 positions to the 83rd place on the World Bank's Ease of Doing Business ranking.

Ukrainian Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius announced the Ukrainian government's plans to enter the top 50 of the Doing Business rating, for which Ukraine has already implemented half of its deregulation plan.

On March 19, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a business deregulation plan until 2017, which includes 171 initiatives to ease administrative and bureaucratic pressure on businesses.

As part of the plan, the government intends to abolish mandatory certification of food products and cancel duty on waste oils collection, a move that is expected to save up to UAH 2.7 billion for businesses. Other initiatives include preservation of a phone number when changing a mobile operator, simplified procedures for businesses to connect to the power grids, by reducing the number of necessary bureaucratic regulations from ten to three.

In addition, the registration of documents for construction, ownership and foreign trade transactions will be carried out in keeping with simplified procedures and within a shorter period of time, according to the plan.
