The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) announces foreign currency auction at the interbank foreign exchange market, for the third consecutive day.

The NBU has sold $15.2 million to the banks on a currency auction on November 19. The average rate at the auction amounted to UAH 23.8180 to the dollar, according to the website of the financial regulator.
According to the report, the banks have applied to buy $20.9 million. The minimum rate proposed by the banks, amounted to UAH 23.87 to the dollar, maximum rate – UAH 23.8 to the dollar. 55.9% of the currency was sold at the minimum rate.

In the foreign exchange auction on November 17, the NBU sold to banks $5.3 million. On November 18, $13.1 million was sold.
Auctions are intended to appease the excessive fluctuations of the hryvnia in the currency market. On Thursday, November 19, the hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank currency market have settled at UAH 23.83/23.91.
