Trilateral meeting on DCFTA scheduled for December

A tripartite meeting on introduction from January 1, 2016, of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between Ukraine and the European Union will be held in early December in Brussels, Ukraine's Trade Representative Nataliya Mykolska wrote on Facebook.

"We are preparing for the trilateral ministerial meeting on trade issues of the Association Agreement in the EU-Russia-Ukraine format. The meeting will be held in Brussels in early December. Details will come later," Mykolska wrote.

Ukraine-EU DCFTA will be introduced in the framework of the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU and will come into force on January 1, 2016.

However, in September 2014, after consultations in Brussels of the representatives of the European Commission, Ukraine and the Russian Federation, the parties agreed to postpone the introduction of the provisions of the Agreement until December 31, 2015. At the same time the EU imposed unilateral preferences on Ukrainian exports, while the European goods continued to be subject to duties in Ukraine.
