NBU intends to expand use of e-money

As part of the comprehensive program for development of the financial sector in Ukraine until 2020, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is set to expand the use of electronic money in Ukraine, in particular by providing access to the market of international online payment systems, according to a posting on the regulator's website based on a draft resolution of the NBU Board "On amendments to the regulation on electronic money in Ukraine."

In particular, the draft resolution provides for the right to individuals to obtain electronic money from non-residents issued outside Ukraine.

The regulatory act will apply to individuals who want to receive e-money issued by non-resident issuers, using international electronic payment systems, which are listed in the register of payment systems, according to the report.
