Ukraine, Turkey deepen cooperation to enhance security in Black Sea region

Ukraine and Turkey will strengthen cooperation in joint defense projects aiming to enhance safety and security in the Black Sea region, according to the press service of state-owned arms manufacturer Ukroboronprom with reference to a statement of Deputy Director General for foreign economic activity Denis Hurak made at Turkey Defense Week 2015 international exhibition.

Hurak said Ukraine and Turkey would jointly develop the marine industry to enhance safety and security in the Black Sea region, adding that this area would be one of the key aspects of cooperation between the states.

He also said his company is focused on attracting foreign investment for the development of the domestic defense industry in line with international standards.

State-run Ukroboronprom Concern was established in 2010 to ensure effective operations and management of state-owned business entities that develop, manufacture, sell, repair, modernize and scrap weapons, military and special equipment and ammunition, and participate in the military and technical cooperation. The Concern incorporates over a hundred enterprises of Ukraine's defense industry.
