Ukraine has enough gas in underground gas storage facilities, so there is no dependence on additional supplies from the Russian gas monopoly Gazprom, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said during the parliament's hour of questions to the government on Friday.
"As of today, we have more than 16 billion cubic meters in our underground storage facilities. It is enough to spend the heating season with the supplies only from the European Union. There is no dependence on Russian gas supplies. The situation is controlled," he said.
