Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Thomas Frellesen announces that the European Commission has decided to allocate EUR 100 million for Ukraine to support decentralization reforms, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
Frellesen said at the conference "Constitutional Reform in Ukraine: Achievements and Prospects" in Kyiv on December 3 that in addition to the EU's serious financial assistance worth EUR 100 million, a lot of European decentralization experts will help Ukraine implement its decentralization agenda.
Frellesen also noted that nearly 160 territorial communities in Ukraine would be involved in investment projects. They will participate in training and will be assisted with the establishment of administrative service centers that will become available to people.
The European Union is willing to support Ukraine on its path toward decentralization. Ukraine should proceed with implementing the decentralization reform to see new and effective self-government agencies in the country, the EU Delegation's deputy head said.
