Emergency power supplies to Crimea through one transmission line will be restored soon, according to the Ukrainian President.
"An accident had occurred resulting in significant difficulties with energy supply for Kherson and Mykolaiv region. This has led to a threat of technogenic disaster," Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said in an interview with Ukrainian TV channels on Sunday.
The President addressed the Government to establish an emergency regime because of the critical situation in coal supply.

As UNIAN reported earlier, two out of four power transmission pylons on the administrative border between mainland Ukraine and Russian-occupied Crimea, which were damaged by blasts in the early hours of November 20, were destroyed completely in a new explosion on November 21.
The four pylons belong to the power grids supplying electricity to Crimea and some areas in Ukraine's Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.
After the incident, the Crimean occupying authorities reported about a total power blackout on the peninsula in the early hours of November 22. According to some reports, strategic facilities were switched to the independent power supply.
On November 24, national energy company Ukrenergo reported that a destroyed transmission tower in Kherson region had been repaired.
On November 29, Acting Director of NEC Ukrenergo Vsevolod Kovalchuk announced that the power supply to the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea would not resume until a final decision was taken.
