This year Ukraine has doubled purchases of anthracite coal from South Africa to supply the country's thermal plants, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn reported.
"Last year we bought 400,000 tonnes, and this year we have already purchased 800,000 tonnes," Demchyshyn said when reporting about the government activities.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry reports that 168,000 tonnes of anthracite coal from South Africa has arrived at the Ukrainian-based port of Yuzhny on Saturday, December 5.
