PRIME: Russian ruble falls to 70 against U.S. dollar on weak oil

The Russian ruble reached its local lows against the U.S. dollar and the euro, depreciating to about 70 against the dollar and testing 77 against the euro on the back of the weak oil dynamics, as seen by PRIME in data of the Moscow Exchange on Friday, according to Russian business news agency PRIME.

The ruble rate fell 0.77 rubles to 69.91 against the dollar after testing 70, and decreased 1.44 rubles to 77.07 against the euro at 5:54 p.m. Moscow time, PRIME wrote.

The oil price stood at about $38.5 per barrel of Brent, a record low since early 2009.
