"The question now is to resume the construction of Tu-160 'White Swan' aircraft, and Ukraine has previously participated in the manufacture of steering system units. We have used a Ukrainian hydraulic motor that was connected to our installations," Shorin said, TASS wrote.

"We need to adapt the unit to our motor. It is not an easy task. It requires the performance of all kinds of tests, and it is a long process, but I think we'll do it," he added.

Tu-160 is a supersonic, variable-sweep wing heavy strategic bomber. It integrates the ability to launch nuclear and conventional weapons on the most important military targets in remote geographical areas and in the rear area. Currently, the bombers are involved in carrying out operations in Syria.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said that Russia was not able to complete the construction of a number of aircraft for the needs of the Russian Navy due to termination of supplies of power generating units from Ukraine.
