Yatsenyuk: LNG terminal in Poland can significantly enhance Ukraine's energy independence

The launch of LNG terminal in Swinoujscie, Poland, "will significantly increase the energy independence of Poland, so it can significantly enhance the energy independence of Ukraine", stressed Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk on Tuesday, December 15, at a meeting with President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, who is in Ukraine on an official visit.

The Prime Minister congratulated Poland on the launch of LNG terminal in Swinoujscie a few days ago, noting that it already received its first cargo from Qatar.

Speaking of a joint project on gas interconnector and pledging substantial purchases of gas in future, Arseniy Yatsenyuk said: "Hence, together we will have high profitability and high energy independence".

Another project in energy sector, which operates between the two countries is the supply of electric energy to Poland from Khmelnitsky Nuclear Power Plant: "Our state companies could continue negotiations on the construction of this supply chain".
