Surplus of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods totals $381 mln in 10 months

The surplus of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods amounted to $381 million in January-October 2015, which was 31.3%, or $290.1 million, up year-over-year, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

As was reported, goods exports from Ukraine decreased by 31.8% to $31.342 billion during the reporting period, while goods imports into Ukraine were 32.2% down, to $30.961 billion. The export-import coverage ratio totaled 1.01 (the same as in January-September 2014). Foreign trade transactions were carried out with trade partners from 213 countries.

Exports of goods to the EU countries in January-October 2015 decreased by 28.4% year-over-year, to $10.472 billion, accounting for 40.7% of the country's total exports.

Imports of goods from the EU countries declined by 27.9%, to $12.547 billion, accounting for 40.5% of total imports.

Exports of goods to the Russian Federation in January-October decreased by 54.3% year-over-year, to $4.013 billion. Imports from Russia shrank by 43% to $6.399 billion.

The data are presented excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as some militant-held districts in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in eastern Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the surplus of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods amounted to $737 million in January-September 2015, up by 27.7% compared to last year's figure of $577.3 million for the same period.

Last year, the deficit of foreign trade in goods shrank by 29 times to $468.3 million.
