From April 2016, the Ukrainians may have an additional monthly fee for the use of gas, no matter the amount of gas consumed, according to the statement of Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolev.
"According to the calculations of our working group, the fee for access to the "tube" will amount to UAH 17 per month for households with only a gas stove, and UAH 29 per month for households with a gas stove and a gas boiler," the report says.
At the same time, Naftogaz promises to remove the cost of "pumping" from price calculation: according to Naftogaz, it is equal to 10.4% of the "summer" price (UAH 7.2 per cubic meter), or 75 kopiykas. That means that the gas price should decrease to UAH 2.85 per cubic meter in winter (currently it is UAH 3.6) and to UAH 6.45 in summer.

"The 'subscription' fee is the European practice. It is beneficial for those who are using gas to heat their houses (as of today, 200 cubic meters cost UAH 720, and with the monthly fee, it will cost UAH 599). But the owners of a gas stoves without gas meters will suffer from this: they will have to pay UAH 38 instead of UAH 21 per month for each person," he said.
