Russian President's spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated Moscow would analyze a decision of the United States regarding anti-Russian sanctions and respond adequately, RIA Novosti reported.
Peskov also called the expansion of the U.S. sanctions list a continuation of an irrational and hostile line toward Russia.
"Actually, this is a continuation of the line, which has a devastating impact on bilateral relations," he said.
The Kremlin spokesman added Russia would analyze U.S. actions, and the countermeasures would be based on the principles of reciprocity.

At this, he did not specify a deadline for Russia's response.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the United States has tightened sanctions against 34 individuals and entities for actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, and introduced new ones.
