The total sum of losses posted by operating banks in Ukraine as of December 1, 2015, was UAH 57.3 billion, or about $2.49 billion at the current official forex rate, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
In November 2015 alone, the losses posted by operating banks were estimated at UAH 1 billion against UAH 3.7 billion in losses reported for October 2015.
The figures do not include insolvent banks' data.
"The losses shrank due to a decline in sums accumulated in reserves against possible losses from active operations. In particular, in November 2015, transfers to the reserves totaled UAH 6.9 billion, which was 30% down on October (UAH 9.8 billion), the NBU said.
The NBU reported that 74 banks posted a combined profit of UAH 4.1 billion as of December 1, 2015, whereas as of November 1, 2015, UAH 3.2 billion was posted by 77 banks.
The operating banks' revenues in the 11 months of 2015 amounted to UAH 191.3 billion, while spending stood at UAH 248.6 billion.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's banking system in 2014 posted UAH 52.966 billion in losses.
