The National Bank of Ukraine on Friday evening lowered the official hryvnia exchange rate by 17 kopiykas, bringing the national currency to UAH 23.13 to the dollar.
The Central Bank set the following official exchange rates of the hryvnia against leading foreign currencies for December 28:
$100 costs UAH 2,313.7486 (on December 25, it was UAH 2,296.4482);
EUR 100 costs UAH 2,532.8606 (on December 25, it was UAH 2,513.9218);
10 RUB costs UAH 3.2927 (on December 25, it was UAH 3.3035).
On Friday, December 25, hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank currency market by the close of trade settled at UAH 23.20/23.30 to the dollar.
Hryvnia quotes against the euro settled at UAH 25.4380/25.5430, while those against the Russian ruble settled at UAH 0.3300/0.3310.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, the weighted average exchange rate of the hryvnia as of 16:00 was UAH 23.1375 to the dollar, with 348 deals concluded by this time worth a total of $192.60 million.
