Natural gas reserves in Ukraine's underground storage facilities (USFs) decreased by 385 million cubic meters (mcm), or 2.6%, to 14.415 billion cubic meters (bcm) from December 19 to December 26, according to PJSC Ukrtransgaz, the operator of Ukraine's gas transportation system.
The company reports that an average of 56 mcm of gas was pumped out of the USFs daily.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said Ukraine had no plans to buy additional volumes of gas from Russia's OAO Gazprom for the heating season since the existing stocks were sufficient, provided favorable weather conditions and reduction in gas consumption by an average of 17-19%.
