Ukraine's state energy holding NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine transferred UAH 18.7 billion to its subsidiary Ukrgasvydobuvannya for gas purchased in 2015, the company said in its statement, adding that it has repaid all its overdue debts.
"In 2015, Naftogaz paid UAH 18.7 billion in total to Ukrgasvydobuvannya for gas received this year. In addition, Naftogaz has paid off its debts from previous periods to the tune of UAH 2.2 billion. For comparison, in 2014, Ukrgasvydobuvannya received UAH 5.9 billion from Naftogaz," according to the statement.
In turn, Ukrgasvydobuvannya this year has transferred more than UAH 20 billion to the national budget.
"The company has fulfilled its liabilities to the budget in terms of gas royalties payment and other charges, ensuring stable funding for utility subsidies for the households," Naftogaz noted.
"For the first time in many years, Ukrgasvydobuvannya has received the full amount of payments for gas it delivered. Given the complicated financial situation we have faced this year, this path has been the best for both the companies and the state," the press service quoted Naftogaz Chief Andriy Kobolev as saying.
As UNIAN reported earlier, in January-September 2015, Naftogaz received UAH 0.2 billion in net profit as compared to a loss of UAH 42.2 billion in the same period last year.
Ukrgasvydobuvannya is the largest gas production company in Ukraine. Its enterprises extracted 15.113 billion cubic meters of gas in 2014, amounting for 75% of all production in the country. Last year, the company posted UAH 1.4 billion in net profit, which is more by 160 times than a net profit of UAH 8.9 million in 2013.
