Crimea blackout: Police say pylon blown up

According to preliminary data, the pylon of the Kakhovska-Tytan power transmission line leading from mainland Ukraine to Crimea was blown up.

The police inspect the damaged concrete pylon of Kakhovska-Tytan transmission line near the village of Bohdanivka in Kakhovka district. According to the preliminary conclusions of a bomb squad, the pylon was damaged in an explosion, as reported by the press service of National police in Kherson region.

"The information on the incident was out in the Unified Register of pre-trial investigations. Criminal proceedings under Part 2 Art. 194-1 (intentional damage to power facilities) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine have been opened,” according to the statement. The perpetrators may face up to ten years in prison for such offense, say the law enforcers.
