Russian Reserve Fund loses $38 bln in 2015

As of January 1, 2016, the total volume of Russia’s Reserve Fund amounted to RUB 3.64 trillion ($49.95 billion), falling 26.5% , according to the Russian Finance Ministry, PRIME news agency reported.

The aggregate amount of the Reserve Fund as of January 1, 2015, was at RUB 4.945 trillion ($87.91 billion), according to the report.

At the same time in December last year, part of the foreign currency funds was spent to cover the deficit of the federal budget, which was $4.52 billion, EUR 4.14 billion and GBP 0.67 billion, sold for RUB 710.67 billion .

The balances in separate accounts recording the assets of the Reserve Fund were as such: $22.71 billion, EUR 20.26 billion, GBP 3.44 billion.
