Surplus of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods 2.6 times up in Jan-Nov

The surplus of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods amounted to $249.5 million in January-November 2015, up by 2.6 times as compared to the previous year's figure of $94.4 million, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

At the same time, November saw a foreign trade deficit estimated at $131.5 million.

Goods exports from Ukraine January through November 2015 decreased by 30.9% to $34.523 billion, while goods imports into Ukraine were 31.2% down, to $34.274 billion. The export-import coverage ratio was 1.01 (against 1.00 in January-November 2014). Foreign trade transactions were carried out with trade partners from 214 countries.

Exports of goods to the EU countries in January-November 2015 decreased by 26% year-over-year, to $11.685 billion, accounting for 43.8% of the country's total exports.

Imports of goods from the EU countries declined by 26.9%, to $14.012 billion, accounting for 40.9% of total imports.

Exports of goods to the Russian Federation in January-November decreased by 53.2% year-over-year, to $4.385 billion. Imports from Russia shrank by 41.6% to $6.960 billion.

The statistical data excludes the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as some militant-held districts in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in eastern Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the surplus of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods in January-October 2015 amounted to $381 million, up by 31.3% compared to the previous year's figure of $290.1 million for the same period.

In 2014, the deficit of foreign trade in goods shrank by 96.6% to $468.3 million.
