The state-owned Oschadbank has filed suit in the Economic Court of the city of Kyiv over “illegal” renaming of Sberbank of Russia’s Ukrainian subsidiary to "Sberbank," the press service of Oschadbank reported.

PJSC State Savings Bank of Ukraine Oschadbank says that changing the name of PJSC Subsidiary Bank Sberbank of Russia in Ukraine to Sberbank is unlawful, as it is in breach of intellectual property rights, according to the suit filed on January 15, 2016, the report reads.

"Renaming Sberbank of Russia to just “Sberbank” is unlawful, so we went to court, not only to protect the interests of Oschadbank, but also the interests of millions of Ukrainians. We consider unacceptable the attempts of Sberbank of Russia to hide in such manner the country of origin of the share capital," the press service quoted Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank Andriy lush as saying.
