Energoatom revenue from electricity sales up 42% in 2015

State-run enterprise Energoatom, which operates all Ukrainian-based nuclear power plants, reported that its revenue from electricity sales in 2015 grew by 41.6% year-over-year to UAH 39.345 billion.

Wholesale electricity market payments for power supplied by Energoatom amounted to UAH 35.326 billion (89.8%) last year.

It is noted that the debt of Energorynok state enterprise, the operator of the wholesale electricity market of Ukraine, owed to Energoatom totals UAH 10.131 billion, taking into account electricity supplied in previous periods.

Last year, Energoatom's share in the Ukrainian electricity market exceeded 57.3%.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in 2014 Energoatom increased its revenue from the sales of electricity by 34.9% - to UAH 27.794 billion y-o-y.

UNIAN memo. Energoatom is Ukraine's largest electricity producer, accounting for about 50% of the country's overall power output. Energoatom is responsible for the safe operation of all nuclear power plants in the country.

Ukraine ranks seventh in the world in terms of the installed capacity of its nuclear power generating units. Energoatom operates four nuclear power plants in Ukraine with 15 power generating units, all with VVER-type reactors. Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, operating six power units with a total capacity of 6 GW, is Europe's largest.
