Ukraine sees 20.7% decline in retail trade in 2015

The turnover of retail trade in Ukraine shrank by 20.7% in 2015 from 2014, to UAH 1.02 trillion, according to the State Statistics Service.

The statistical data does not include information from the Russian-occupied Crimea and some districts in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.

The deepest decline in retail trade last year was registered in Luhansk and Donetsk regions – by 71.5% and 66.4% to UAH 7.9 billion and UAH 31.2 billion, respectively.

Retail trade turnover fell the least in Kyiv region (by 12.5%, to UAH 52.1 billion) and Kirovohrad region (by 12.6%, to UAH 21.7 billion). The city of Kyiv alone saw a 14.6% decline in retail trade turnover, to UAH 158.5 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, retail turnover in Ukraine in 2014 shrank by 8.6% from 2013, to UAH 903.535 billion.
