Jaresko hopeful, optimistic about IMF's third tranche

Ukrainian Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko says that Ukraine expects a positive decision by the country's key lender, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on the second review of the Fund's $17.5 billion Extended Fund Facility, which was approved in March 2015, and the disbursement of its third tranche worth $1.7 billion.

"I'm hopeful, I'm optimistic that we will see it [the third tranche] in the very near future," she said at a "Focus Ukraine: Global Export Credit Agency and Multilateral Financial Institutions" strategy meeting in Kyiv on Thursday.

"Ukraine has been in an IMF program since April of the previous year [2014]. <…> Ukraine has been consistently following through all of its IMF commitments for almost two years now. That is remarkable for Ukraine. It is remarkable for any country that's witnessing and having the types of economic difficulties that we're having," she added.
