The audits will be conducted with a view of "verifying the legality of contracts on coal imports, compliance of the declared volumes with the volumes actually delivered, the availability of quality certificates and certificates of origin regarding the coal stocks in warehouses, as well as determining the price parameters," the minister wrote on Facebook.

In case any violations of the legislation are established based on results of the audit, the materials will be transferred to law enforcement bodies for assessment, the minister noted.

At the same time, Demchyshyn appealed to the management of the State Fiscal Service and Security Service of Ukraine to duly react to such cases.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Energy Minister denied recent media reports that state power generating company Centrenergo was buying anthracite coal supplied from the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone under the guise of coal supplies from South Africa, the price of which is much higher.
