Businessmen from Saudi Arabia are expected to invest $10.5 billion into Ukraine's agriculture, Ukrainian weekly Novoe Vremya wrote with reference to Saudi Arabia's daily newspaper Al-Watan.
The announcement was made after Ambassador of Ukraine to Saudi Arabia Vadym Vakhrushev held talks with 25 Saudi businessmen.
The parties discussed an increase in investment between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia in such sectors as agriculture, industry, real estate and tourism, according to the report.
The decision is connected with Saudi Arabia's suspension of wheat production domestically and focus on investment in agriculture overseas. The decision will come into force in three years, it was reported.
According to participants in the talks, their meeting would help build confidence between the two countries and open up opportunities for closer cooperation.
Saudi businessmen are to visit Ukraine in the near future to assess investment opportunities. Ukrainian businessmen are also expected to visit Riyadh.
