A total of 324 vehicles owned by Ukrainian carriers have been detained on the territory of Russia, Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Transport (Rostransnadzor) told an UNIAN correspondent.
"As of 10:00 on February 16, a total of 324 vehicles belonging to Ukrainian carriers have been detained on the territory of Russia. Most of the trucks were detained in the Central and Northwestern federal districts. Any cases of illegal actions committed by drivers of the trucks were not registered," the report says.
It is noted that, before receiving additional instructions from the Russian Ministry of Transport, during control procedures of freight vehicles registered in Ukraine, Rostransnadzor's inspectors draw up a seizure protocol with a list of documents and place the car on a specialized parking.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Russian transport authorities announced that Russia had blocked the traffic of Ukrainian transit trucks in its territory, except those that were moving to Kazakhstan under police escort.
The Cabinet of Ministers has also decided to impose a temporary ban on the transit of Russian-registered cargo transport vehicles through Ukraine's territory.
