The European Union is assessing the situation with regards to transit transport issues between Ukraine and Russia, a source in the European Commission has told an UNIAN correspondent in Brussels.
"The EU is currently assessing the complex situation with regards to transport between Ukraine and Russia," the source said.
"The EU has permanent contacts with Ukraine on a number of issues including the Russian measures to try to further clarify the situation. Any measure having an impact on trade need to be discussed at bilateral level between the trade partners."

The Cabinet of Ministers has also decided to impose a temporary ban on the transit of Russian-registered cargo transport vehicles through Ukraine's territory.
