Ukraine uses 62% of EU sugar quota for 2016

Since the beginning of 2016, Ukrainian exporters have used 62% of EU quota for duty-free export of sugar in 2016, having already supplied 12,400 tonnes of the product, the Ukrtsukor association's press service reported.

"As of February 16, Ukraine has exported 12,400 tonnes of sugar to the EU countries, with an annual quota of 20,070 tonnes," according to the report.

As UNIAN reported earlier, as of February 16, Ukrainian producers have fully used annual quotas for duty-free supplies of corn, honey, grape and apple juices to the EU markets.

In addition, it is reported that Ukrainian exporters have already supplied 225,000 tonnes of barley to the EU (90% of the quota allocated to Ukraine in 2016), 3,900 tonnes of barley groats and flour (63% of the quota), 519,000 tonnes of wheat (55% of the quota), 1,800 tonnes of oats (45% of the quota), 4,400 tonnes of processed tomatoes (44% of the quota).

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian farmers did not fully use last year's quota for lamb meat exports to the European Union, as well as quotas for the supply of mushrooms, garlic, sugar syrup, starch, bran, sweet corn, milk and butter processed products, according to Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Oleksiy Pavlenko.
