Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Andriy Pyvovarsky assured that the movement of Russian trucks in Ukraine was not blocked, Ukrainian online newspaper Ukrainska Pravda reported.
"Russian-registered vehicles entering the territory of Ukraine from the EU, Belarus or Russia since February 25, have either left the country, or are continuing the trip," Pyvovarsky said on air of one of the TV channels on February 28.
According to the minister, no "blockade" currently takes place, but there is only a "declaration of the position by social activists from Svoboda party."
The minister also said that the number of Ukrainian trucks transiting through the Russian territory is seven times more than the Russian vehicles in Ukraine.
The minister stressed that the blockade of the movement of Russian trucks may result in claims against Ukraine in the World Trade Organization (WTO).
"Our European partners may file claims against Ukraine with the WTO in case of the transit blockade," Pyvovarsky said, adding that according to international rules, the blocking of transit is prohibited.
