"I believe that the maximum price will be slightly reduced, by about 10%, while the minimum price will grow to UAH 5,500 including VAT," Vovk said at the Ukrainian Energy Forum in Kyiv.

As was reported earlier, the minimum gas price is set during the heating season for households that use gas for heating purposes, as well as for district heating utility companies that provide centralized heating services.

According to Vovk, with the increase in the minimum gas price for district heating utility companies to UAH 5,500 per 1,000 cubic meters, household gas tariffs will increase by an average of 80% per month.

Chief of the National Commission also recalled that gas tariffs for population are determined by the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers, and in accordance with an agreement previously signed with the IMF, they are expected to cover 75% of the costs of imported gas for households and district heating utility companies by April 1.
