NBU worsens inflation forecast for this year

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) projects this year’s inflation at 13% against a target rate of 12%, said NBU Deputy Governor Dmytro Sologub at a roundtable devoted to macroeconomic forecasting that is held in Kyiv.

"According to the average consensus forecast [inflation] is projected at 13% by the end of the year," he said.

Ukraine's main creditor, International Monetary Fund, forecasts GDP growth in Ukraine at 2% in 2016 with inflation of 12%.

According to the UNIAN's expert consensus forecast, GDP growth is projected at 1%, while the industrial production is expected to grow by 3% and inflation will slow down to 19%.

The budget deficit for 2016 is capped at 3.7%, and the hryvnia exchange rate projected at UAH 24.1 per dollar.
