Ukraine sees 30% rise in agricultural production costs

Costs of agricultural production in Ukraine grew by 29.6% in January 2016 as compared with the same period last year, the State Statistics Service reported.

In particular, crop production costs grew by 23.4%, and costs of livestock production were up by 44.7%.

In January, costs of agricultural production decreased by 1.9% as compared with the previous month. Total costs of crop production decreased by 3.1%, and those of livestock production grew by 1.1%.

According to the report, expenses on material and technical resources used in agricultural production fell by 3.8% in January as compared to December.

The data are presented excluding the occupied territories of Crimea and part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone.

As UNIAN reported earlier, agricultural production costs in 2015 increased by 50.9% on a year-over-year basis.
