Jaresko on IMF Memo: every week, something changes

Ukraine continues to work on the agreement of the updated Memorandum with the International Monetary Fund, Ukrainian Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko told journalists on Friday.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UAA1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"It's a living draft, every week, something changes," she said.

As an illustration, Jaresko said that a few weeks ago, the Verkhovna Rada endorsed two bills, which were envisaged by the Memorandum, therefore the text of the document had to be changed.

"It's a living situation, and the memorandum is now being discussed. There are no specific problems," she said.

Jaresko also said that the allocation of another tranche from the IMF is possible only after a meeting of the Foundation Council, but until the Memo is signed, the IMF cannot set a date for such meeting.

"Now we have to concentrate on the Memorandum, to agree all these details, and after that, there will be the signing and the meeting of the Council, and the allocation of tranches," she said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, IMF spokesman Gerry Rice told a general news briefing on Thursday that the IMF was ready to continue cooperation with Ukraine under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program, but expects more clarity from Kyiv about the status of the government and the parliamentary coalition.
