Core inflation at 0.4% in Feb

Core inflation in Ukraine in February 2016 is recorded at 0.4% compared to the previous month, the State Statistics Service reports.

In annual terms, core inflation in February stayed at 25.1% in February 2016, according to the agency’s report posted on its website.

The State Statistics Service says the information excludes data from the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as part of the zone of the Anti-Terrorist operation.

As UNIAN reported earlier, there was deflation in Ukraine in February 2016 compared with the previous month, at the level of 0.4% after a 0.9% inflation was recorded in January 2016 compared to December 2015.

The National Bank of Ukraine predicts a slowdown in consumer price inflation in Ukraine down to 12% by the end 2016.

The State Budget of Ukraine for 2016 assumes an annual inflation rate at 12%, while the hryvnia exchange rate – at about UAH 24.1 to the dollar.

According to the State Statistics methodology, core inflation excludes short-term irregular price changes under the influence of administrative, eventual, and seasonal factors.
