Turkey interested in buying Ukraine’s coal mines

The Turkish side is willing to take part in a process of privatization of Ukraine’s energy assets, including state-owned coal mines, according to the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine.

The ministry reports that Turkey informed the Ukrainian side about its intentions during a visit to Turkey of minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn as part of the official delegation on March 9: "The Turkish side expressed interest in participating in the privatization of energy assets in Ukraine, in particular, the coal mines."
